After several years, the tractor market has stopped declining
22. 7. 2026In the first half of 2026, 1,250 new tractors were registered in the Czech Republic, representing a year-on-year increase of 3%. Growth was driven mainly by compact tractors below 50 HP. The market for tractors with 50 HP and above remained virtually unchanged.
Stabilisation, but no significant recovery yet
In the segment of tractors with 50 HP and above, 790 machines were registered during the first six months, representing a year-on-year increase of 0.5%. This is the second-lowest result since 2017 and approximately 30% below the record level recorded in the first half of 2022. The data therefore point more to a halt in the previous decline than to a return to market growth.
Higher power categories remain under pressure
Registrations of tractors with 100–149 HP increased by 10.6%, while the 50–99 HP category grew by 2.7%. However, the 150–249 HP segment declined by 14.9% year on year, while the category of 250 HP and above remained virtually unchanged.
The results suggest that medium-sized and large agricultural enterprises continue to postpone investments in new machinery. In terms of the power structure, and therefore also the overall value of the segment, the 50+ HP market continues to weaken.
Year-on-year change by power category:
John Deere remains number one, while Fendt moves into second place
John Deere remains the market leader in the 50+ HP category. With 163 registered tractors, it achieved a market share of 20.6%. The number of its registrations remained unchanged year on year. Fendt moved into second place with 83 machines and a market share of 10.5%. New Holland completed the top three with a market share of 9.2%.

The second half of the year will show the next direction
The first half of 2026 brought a halt to the decline in the total number of registrations. However, differences between individual segments remain significant: while compact tractors are growing, higher power categories are stagnating or continuing to decline.
